Build 31 of human genome released

The UCSC Genome Bioinformatics team announced the release of the latest human genome assembly, Build 31 (UCSC version hg13) on December 23, 2002. The assembly was produced at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). It was based on sequence information submitted into GenBank, an annotated database of all publicly available DNA sequences kept by the NIH, as of November 14, 2002.  MORE... the UCSC Genome Browser
